It had been a couple weeks since the academy began defrosting, with students bustling about here and there trying to prepare for their classes, the tournament, or whatever else they have to worry about, much like the first day of the elf's enrollment. The elf, however, preferred not to go to any crowded places or be dragged into something he could care less about. Rather, he preferred trying to reconnect with people he met before he left the school. Most of them were gone now, except for a couple of familiar faces. Speaking of familiar faces, one caught his eye. He smiled to himself as he approached the man. "Hello, sir! I... Err... Do you happen do remember me?"

The head of the Magical Linguistics department was enjoying the pseudo-summer break, and was glad to be able to both focus on his beginners, as well as have some time for himself. He had begun to make it a habit to visit the main library at least once a week, as well as to go out and visit the nearby town, and also stop by the alternate realm every other morning. It was nice, though he did catch himself thinking wistfully of former friends and long-gone students... Almost as if summoned by the thought, a pleasant and familiar person approached him. He couldn't help but smile back and wave happily at the elf before him. "Dion? I never forget a pretty face." Razik chuckled and wiggled his ears playfully, before tilting his head. "What are you doing out and about? I feel like I have not seen you in quite some time... I was just about to get tea, would you like to join me? We can get lunch as well, if you are hungry." The kelpie would be glad for the chance to catch up, and, well, he was never one to turn down the chance to have a nice date, platonic or not.

The boy flushed pink at the compliment. "And the same goes for yourself, sir," he mumbled quietly, smiling at the other. It felt like forever since they've met, and a lot about himself has changed, he knew. The former stutter that plagued him was gone, though they tend to reappear when he felt extremely anxious. Or when the potion wears off. There was his height, as well, and some more confidence in the boy. As the other never knew Razik too well, he couldn't see what had changed in him. "I'm trying to find resources, as other students are, of course. Professor Helmy is making us do quite the research, and I have yet to come up with a plan for the tournament." At the mention of tea, the elfs eyes lit up, but refused almost immediately. "I-i couldn't possibly... that would be much too troublesome, wouldn't it, professor?" Of course, he wouldnt like to disturb anyone, especially someone who he thought would be very busy at the time.

Razik's brows rose and he chuckled at how shy the other was being. Sometimes it really was too easy to get some of his cute students blushing. "Did you just try to call me pretty?" He seemed amused at the thought, and after a brief inspection of Dion, he was rather content with how the boy looked to have grown up well. He knew he wouldn't look much different from the last time he was seen, as he didn't really age, and besides his eyelids, the only change in his appearance was in his disregard for pants. "Mmm... And you would use me as a resource? I have already helped one of my students thus far in the tournament, but I see no harm in aiding another." The kelpie hummed to himself, feeling flattered that he had been sought out at all for assistance, and tucked a stray lock of hair behind one of his long ears in a thoughtful manner. The look on his face was nearly impish with its mischievous, though his voice was not nearly as teasing. "Why would I even make the offer if it would be troublesome for me? Now would you like to retreat to my office for somewhere more private, or perhaps head into town, or would one of the cafes better suit you? I myself have no strong preferences." With a rather expectant look in his eyes, though donning a pleasant smile, he offered his arm for the other to take.

"Ah, err... n-not unless you don't want me to." His cheeks became rosier than it previously was as he tried to avoid answering the question. "Well, if it doesn't trouble you, I would very much appreciate the help." The elf smiled somewhat nervously at the other, hoping that he would receive it. After all, he didn't know most of the people in the school, much less anyone to turn to for help. That said, he barely knew any of the people who signed up for the tournament. The only one he recognized was Darvenel, a recent friend of his. It was a large disadvantage, but what better way was there than to ask a teacher to help? On the other hand, a part of him feared that he might disappoint his ex-professor, suppose he received help and didn't even pass the first round. "If I may, who is this other student you're providing help for?" The elf fears that it might be his opponent; perhaps not for this round but maybe the next, if he could even make it that far. "Then I'd love to come along!" The boy flustered at the mention of private, moreso when he saw the others' hand for him to take. With a little hesitation, he wrapped his arm around the kelpie and offered a small smile, trying to cover his blush with his hair. Why was he so nervous all of a sudden? "I... I suppose your office would be nice; I'm not too keen on being around groups of people."

"Why wouldn't I want you to call me pretty? I don't mind it at all. It takes one to know one, after all, mm?" Razik really can't help the friendly teasing, and so few of the people he's around react in such a endearing way. Idly he noted Dion's nervousness, but he didn't take it personally. After all, the tournament was a big part of Otherworlde, and it could be very dangerous... He was surprised the elf had wanted to enter at all. "Mmm, I am tailoring Alexei's assignments to help him with his battles, but you're not paired with him..." He couldn't quite remember who the elf was paired off with, but he had a list of the tournament pairings in his office somewhere. The kelpie was glad he got Dion to relax slightly, and when he tucked the other's arm to his side securely, he grinned up at him. "You've gotten much taller, hmm?" Razik wasn't bothered that his former student was taller than him by several inches, and he led Dion to his office with a gentle calm to his steps. "Tell me as we walk... What sort of skills do you have that you plan to use to fight, and to defend?"

"I wouldn't want to offend you or anything, sir," the boy numbled. There he went again, being shy. It really was a wonder why he'd choose to go through a dangerous event--he's sure everyone who knew him was confused, perhaps even afraid for him. "Alexei?" The name wasn't familiar to him, which wasn't much of a surprise. He didn't even know his own opponent. The only thing he knows about him is that he's the Chronomancy teachers star pupil, which made him all the more intimidating. "I... I don't suppose you know err... Eratos, do you?" The elf laughs at the remark about his height, motioning at his feet. "High heeled shoes do make a difference, don't they?" Many people have commented about his height, and how he practically towered over everyone, though the shoes were more of the cause than his growth. But that was the extent of him standing out of the crowd. Literally. He didn't like the attention he received from it, though. It made him feel alien, in a way. He shrugged at Razik's question and bit his lip. "I... I'm not sure myself. I have limited knowledge about my opponent, so I couldn't say much about strategies or anything. My most polished skill is elementalism, though. Mostly watermancy; its my element of choice. I'm able to make a variety of potions as well, but that's as much as I can do. That and... well, whatever it is you see in me when I attended your classes."

"I am not easily offended, don't you worry." Razik patted Dion's arm with a rather wry amusement, and nodded, describing his current student with all of the pleasure of a proud parent. "Alexei is a good boy. I think he is the sort of fellow you'd make good friends with, really." That wasn't counting for the other... Aspects... Of the angel's personality, but that was hardly relevant to the topic at hand. The kelpie nearly faltered mid-step when Dion asked about his opponent, and he paused to let out a shaky laugh of surprise. "I'm surprised they even let him compete at all, that's not very fair... Eratos will be a challenging opponent, but I'm sure you can handle him. Besides chronomancy, he is a very skilled elementalist, but I can't tell you too much about his fighting style." Razik's gaze wandered down the elf's body and paused at his shoes, and he made a little appreciative noise. Even without the heels, the elf was long and slim and pretty, and still a couple of inches taller than him. He hardly minded, though, despite how strange it was to have a student taller than him. "Hmm... Have you thought about combining your watermancy with potions? I imagine you could make some devastating attacks doing such... Perhaps with explosive potions, or maybe paralytics? Poisons? Mind you, I hardly know anything about potions, but I would very much suggest to play up your strengths."
When they got to the castle, the professor opened the large doors with an idle flick of his wrist, and his office was just a turn and a few steps down into the building. "Now, tea, did you have a tea preference?" He preferred black and red teas himself, but for some reason the kelpie thought Dion could probably use something more soothing... Maybe chamomile?... He had no idea what sort of things elves liked though, what a pity.

"Then maybe you could introduce us sometime," the elf replied. He would love to build new friendships, especially if it was suggested to him. It made him wonder what personality Alexei had to have Razik say such a thing. His thoughts were interrupted with Razik's sudden falter, the comment making the boy slightly more nervous. "Are you alright?" He bit his lip, swearing to himself. Was his opponent really that good? "Do... do you think I have any chance against him? I've heard that he was one of the chronomancy professor's star pupils, and..." his voice became softer as he talked, imagination running wild. Was he a suitable opponent? He knew the extent of his skills, but judging from the reactions of those who knew Eratos, he didn't think he was a worthy adversary. What if, even using all the strength he could muster, it wouldn't be enough for Eratos to take the battle seriously? Not to mention he was, as the other put it, a skilled elementalist. He doubted his skills were up to par to Eratos'. At the mention of the potions strategy, the elf stroked his chin. It could work, suppose he had some paralysis potion or something of the sort. "Mm.. well, I don't think I'm skilled enough to bend potions just yet." Since various ingredients were brewed inside, the components should make it heavier than it was. He knew, as bending saltwater and freshwater had a slight difference in density. "Do... could you tell me what element he prefers to use?"
The elf stared in awe at the doorway. Judging from the entrance, the elf thought professors must have large offices. He has never been in one, though. He was never in trouble, nor was he close to any of the professors, so this excited him. "Tea? Any mix would be fine for me, thank you. I'm not too picky." The elf smiled at the kelpie. He usually went for floral or herbal teas, combining different types to make a flavourful brew. Sometimes he would add a bit of fruit to add extra flavour into it, make it sweet. "So how have you been, recently?"

"You and Alexei?" Razik's tone was thoughtful, though he hardly needed to think on it. The two calm young men would suit each other well. "I can do that for you, but perhaps it would be better to wait until after the tournament..." The professor was at a loss of how to describe his falter, and a bit flustered, he explained, "I knew Eratos once on a very personal level, so I was just a bit surprised. Please don't be too alarmed?" The kelpie had no idea how powerful the incubus would be as an opponent, and luckily Dion was powerful himself, so hopefully he would stand a chance. "I think, if you are willing to be a bit ruthless and aggressive, that you will do fine." It would take quite a bit of effort on the elf's part, but really, the kelpie was at a loss as to how to give advice. He was not aggressive, and avoided fights and anything of that nature as a general rule, tending to focus more on the theoretical and defensive aspects of his own studies. "It could be something you can practice? I think using potions offensively would be a good idea, but you need to be creative... Perhaps if you laced the field with a particularly flammable or explosive potion, and then also had a defense for yourself, that would be good?" Explosions seemed like a good idea. They were quick and could hopefully take care of the fighting within an instant. "I don't know, I'm sorry." Razik should have known Era's preferred elements, or at least something, but he hadn't seen Dion's opponent in years and he knew that many things could change over time.
"There's no need to play at being so cute." Razik laughed to himself as he led Dion from the castle entrance to his office, right beside the classroom he had always had, and shook his head with some amusement at the elf's awe. "Mmm... Loose leaf is alright?" He led Dion to a chair and detangled his arm from the other's with a sheepish smile, and went to fetch two mugs and some other things from his bookshelf, browsing about it with a light hum as he went about making the tea. The heated water was an easy enough thing to conjure, and so after making up some sort of chamomile mint mix, he offered Dion a cup and sat at his own seat with a content smile. "Ahh... I have been quite alright. Just teaching and doing the normal sort of thing." The smugness of his expression or lazy satisfaction of his posture suggested that perhaps he had someone he was seeing romantically to make him so content, but that wasn't knowledge he would offer to share. "How about you, though? What sort of adventures have you gotten into while you have been away, hm?"

The elf nodded with a smile. It would probably be best for that, though he doubted it would work. When he spoke to Alan about the event, he told him that friendship was never the same since. The tension was far too intense for any to work, and there was always resentment and self pity or hatred for those who were cut. "Oh, I see... Err.. Forgive me if I said something wrong," he said anxiously. He was rather surprised that Razik was unaware of his opponent joining the tournament. He wasn't too sure, but assumed they were probably close until the tournament came up and had to go against each other. After all, what else could it be? Well.. they could have had a relationship, he thought. A part of him wished he could have a connection with someone that was close. The boy doubled at the advice. Ruthless? Aggressive? He didn't believe he was capable of that. "I... hope there's a better way; I wouldn't like spilling blood, even for defense. I don't suppose there are incantations where you multiply yourself, are there?" The last phrase he said with a laugh, half-wanting there to be one. It could be helpful for defense, maybe offense as well. "That's quite an idea, actually. It might work, but it all depends if they've got the supply for such a thing, don't you think?" The boy nodded, a small frown on his lips. "That's alright. I guess I'll just have to prepare myself for... everything."
"C-cute?" Dion blushed at the word, stumbling on his steps slightly. He wasn't trying to be, not like he even knew how to. With a smile, he nodded at the choice. "That would be fine, thank you." He took the cup and took a sip of the tea. It wasn't too fragrant, which he liked. "Normal?" Razik's reply was rather vague, but he supposed he should accept it. It's not a very good thing to pry, after all. "Ah, I've been fine myself, thank you. I'm actually a bit disappointed this year; most of the friends I made the previous term... no traces of them around. But I've made new ones, which is nice, I suppose. But on my," he laughed, "adventures. It was nice to see my family again, though I didn't get the type of welcome I received. I went trudging through mountains, forests, had to defend myself against wild animals... traveled for weeks. But when I got there..." He sighed, hesitating to say. "It wasn't a very warm welcome." He shrugged. For a moment, he opened his mouth and closed it again, as if he was about to say something and thought the better of it. He had an initiation/coming of age ceremony, but was that even something Razik would like to know? He winced at the thought of it. He could feel the sting of the scar as he shifted on his seat. "I learned to sword fight and got better at archery, though. Other than that... There hasn't been anything interesting, actually. But what happened in the academy while I was gone? Surely something interesting, no?" He was trying to point out the others' unusual, to him anyway, body language.

"You didn't say anything wrong, don't worry about it." The professor was quick to rebuke Dion's apology, waving it away with the dismissive movement of his hand and a pleasant smile. The kelpie settled back and drank his tea slowly, thinking over their words and humming to himself thoughtfully. He wasn't a big fan or the tournaments in the academy, and his students didn't seem to participate much in them, but he would help however he could. "Multiply yourself? There could be some good illusionary spells, yes, but perhaps hexing could be good for that sort of thing... Or blood magic? Making golems would be useful, as well..." Razik wish he knew more, wish he could teachhis students more, but unfortunately he still had much to learn as well. One could never know enough magic, after all. "I think you'll be just fine, Dion, don't you worry at all..."
"Very fine. And very cute, yes, no need to deny it." Razik raised a brow and gave Dion a playful grin, all the while watching the teen with muted amusement. His good humour faded away somewhat at the drop of the elf's attitude, and he pursed his lips. "I am sorry your friends had moved on... But new friendships are just as precious, mm?" Razik was clearly curious at the mention of Dion's family, and more so at the lackluster description of his adventures, so the kelpie leaned forwards across his desk and asked, "Not a warm welcome? How so? Would you like to talk about it?" He certainly wasn't going to force the young man to speak about an undesired topic, but he was very eager to know. Something did catch his attention, and he suggested idly, "Swordplay. That might give you an advantage in your tournament fight." Swordplay could help the other balance and fend off attacks, and perhaps lead into offensive movements of his own... Maybe? He had no idea, really, and Dion's question distracted him. Razik's ears twitched back slightly, and he hummed loudly, trying to put off his own answer. And also to keep the topic off of his own rather uneventful life. Very uneventful. Of course. "I haven't noticed anything too interesting go on lately... But I suppose it depends on what you consider interesting." The kelpie had a bad habit of lurking and eavesdropping, so he was aware of a few things, but it was really always the same type of situations year after year.

Hexing? At this point he regretted his choice of classes, or rather of entering the tournament. It wasn't a smart move, he admitted, joining something dangerous with a lack of skill in the combat area. But he did know quite a lot about medicinal magic. That would be a disadvantage if he was fatally wounded, though, as he needed the energy to heal himself. "B-blood magic? Oh, I don't know if I can do such a thing. I dont even have a clue of what you mean by that, actually." That and... he wasn't sure where he would get the blood for it. Neither of his hands were flesh, so unlike others, it wouldn't be easy for him to simply cut his palm and use the blood from it. "Mm.. if you say so," he replied with a smile, knowing someone had faith in him. "Will you be watching the matches?"
"N-no I... mmm fine," he mumbled as he took another sip of the tea, the faint blush still apparent on his cheek. The elf then grinned, with a curt nod. "Ah, no need to be sorry! Yes, I suppose they are. I've made more friends in the past few weeks than in the years I've been here previously, actually." That wasn't saying much, though. He only had a couple previously, but he enjoyed the company he had now. He set the tea down and moved back in his seat. "I don't think this is an appropriate subject of discussion for a first meeting, now do you?" He smiled at the other, though it did seem a bit sadder than it usually is. "It would be nice to talk to someone about it, though. If you're willing to listen to it, that is. Sorry for turning the mood sour, Razik." The elf raised an eyebrow thoughtfully at that. "I was thinking about using it for defense maneuvers, but I'm afraid using weapons will.. pose some disadvantages. What I observed during practise was that sword wielding will require more energy. It can weigh me down, and tire me as well." The boy shrugged. "It's not a bad idea, though." The boy noticed Razik's ear twitch and squinted a little, then waved it off. "I suppose anything significant that happened in the academy would suffice. I have much to catch up on, academically and socially." The boy was distracted as he looked at Razik's features. Once he thought about it, he never really knew what he was. And the scar... he tilts his head slightly, features tensing. "I... If I may... the scar across your face? What happened there?"

The kelpie watched what seemed to be regret flit across the other's face, and he offered Dion a calm, nearly sad smile. The elf didn't seem aggressive or violent enough to him to be in the tournament at all... Then again, neither had Alan, and his old friend had done quite well in the tournament previously. "No need to stutter so... It's not always malicious, blood magic." Razik chuckled, amusement clear in his tone. Blood magic was probably his favorite branch in his department, despite how misinterpreted it could often be. It was such a creative concept! "I wasn't planning on watching the fights, to be honest with you, but... If you'd like me to come, I will cheer you on?" The kelpie smiled wryly. Go to cheer on an old student while watching him fight, possibly to the death, against Razik's ex-boyfriend? He supposed it wouldn't hurt too much to give Dion a little bit of extra support... Hopefully.
"Friendship is of the utmost importance... I am glad that you have found yourself se new companions. Surely it must be easy for a young man as sweet as you to make friends, mm? All you have to do is smile and people flock to you?" Razik was only partially teasing. He had known quite a few handsome, kind-hearted people, and it was strange to them that they came to be a part of the academy. Otherworlde was not the most pleasant of places. "Not an appropriate subject? My apologies, I didn't mean to pry... But the offer will stay on the table. I would gladly listen to anything you'd like to say." Dion's reluctance only made him more curious, so he really did hope the boy would share the story with him. The kelpie was a bit more nosy than he should have been, really. He nodded at Dion's explanation of swordplay, seeing the logic in it. He would possibly suggest using some sort of watermancy for a sword instead, but that seemed like a drain on energy--and besides, if it was a good idea, Dion could think it up on his own. "...oh! Well, let's see..." What had happened lately in Otherworlde? Razik mused on it, before stating, not bitter about it at all, "The chronomancy and elementalism professors are together romantically, so that's interesting... Also! I will be getting an entire building for my department some time soon, a big tower? That will be nice, I look forwards to it." Razik's enthusiasm disappeared near-instantly at the innocent question, and his hand lifted to touch the scar in question gingerly. It didn't hurt, and he never really forgot it was there, but sometime he chose to forget it. Or tried to. The kelpie licked his lips and, after a pause, teased, "Who's bringing up inappropriate subjects now?" But he did answer the other softly. "It is a reminder to myself of my true nature, I suppose. Of the nature of friendship. I had been burned across the face with hot metal, and though normally my body heals quite quickly, I chose to keep this scar. I thought it gave me a bit of character, hmm?" He tried to laugh, and did let out a noise something like that, though it wasn't as cheerful as he would have liked it to sound. The topic wasn't as painful as it had been before, but it was a mistake that would follow him his entire life... Not that Dion knew that. The elf was just a curious young man, after all, Razik wouldn't fault him for asking an innocent question.

It was apparent that Razik found Dion's misconception amusing. The boy tilted his head slightly. "Is it not?" He hadn't any experience with it before, but his interest was piqued. "Then... what does it do?" He thought his question was rather vague, but he didn't know how to start asking. A hundred questions roamed his mind about it, and though curious, he was afraid of learning it. "A-ah, there's no need, really! I don't think you'd want to knowing your... er... history, with my opponent. I meant if you'd want to watch the other battles, probably those prior to mine. The other student you're helping--Alexei, was it?--his match, perhaps?" He flustered at Razik's reply. How insensitive of me, he thought as he bit his lip.
"Th-that's not true!" He blushed again. "It's not as easy as that, I'm sure you know. Although there are pure-hearted people here, I can say a bunch are... what was it, wolves in sheeps clothing? There are people who will take advantage of their 'friends' for whatever selfish desires of theirs." The boy shrugged as he said the latter part, then with a smile, joked, "You don't happen to be those people, do you?" A small smile tugged on the boy's lips, feeling partially happy he can have someone to share it with. "This is turning into an awfully sad therapy session, don't you think?" He sighed a little, tapping his fingers on the mug, the sound of metal clinking on china audible. "There's no need to apologize, sir, but... Mm.. perhaps another time, if that's alright? I.. I don't think I'm able to say." His head was bent as he recalled the night, unable to look at the other. For one thing, he didn't believe he was ready to share it. He had forgotten about it for a while, but the memory wasn't something one could simply pass of for nothing. And not to just anyone, he thought. Though he didn't see any mis-intentions from Razik, he couldn't be so certain of it. They've just met and all, anyway. The chronomancy and elementalism professors? He nodded, though he didn't know the chronomancy professor. If that was the case, then the professors must have more time in their hands than he expected them to. "And what about you, sir? Are you with anyone at the moment?" He smirked before taking another sip of his tea. The boy clapped softly at the mention of the building. "Well that's good for you, then! I hope to see it someday." Dion shifts on his seat and mumbled an apology, having to ask Razik to say something he may not want to discuss. "Well... it does give you an edge, I say. Unique, in fact." He smiled to comfort the other, though it appeared rather sad. He was confused on why he would to keep the scar, something to look at the mirror as a reminder of whatever he'd done wrong. But most of all, he wondered what type of friend would do such a thing to him. He may not know the kelpie too well but he knew he wasn't a someone who would intend harm on anyone. Then again, what does he know?

"It really isn't," the kelpie reassured, looking very please to be able to speak about the topic of blood magic. "You can use it for a lot of protective charms... It can act as an enhancer for other magic, as well, so it is very useful." There were malicious ways to use blood magic, of course, and some of the aspects of it were utterly vile, but... The kelpie didn't generally teach that part of the subject to his students. His lips twitched upwards at the way Dion almost seemed flustered, and he leaned across the table a bit, nearly predatory with his teasing tone. "Honestly? I just don't like fighting. It's nothing against you, or your opponent--" Well, it kind of was, but that wasn't the point. "--but rather the desires of a peaceful old man to pretend violence is not prevalent here. Alexei can tell me about his fight later... As will you? Right?" It would be nice, to have another topic of conversation, he would appreciate it greatly.
"Back in my day, all that was needed was a smile and greeting... And with your pretty face? It should be even easier for you." Razik looked surprised at Dion's smile, before he grinned widely, his thin sharp teeth clearly visible between his lips. "Friendship is very important to me. I would not hurt my friends." Though he had before in the past, he had learned from it... The permanent reminder on his face helped, as well. The kelpie held tightly on his warm cup, chuckling lightly. "Warm tea and a good person to talk to is always therapeutic. You don't mind, do you?" The professor wasn't too bothered by Dion's reluctance to talk. The fact that the young man mentioned the topic at all showed he was willing to work past his issues, and Razik knew it could take quite a bit of time... And he felt honored, that his former student would want to share it with him, even in passing. "I don't mind at all. It gives me another excuse to talk to you, mm?" As a moment of silence settled over them, he took the moment to finish his tea, before setting his cup aside. The kelpie was a social fellow, and was glad for the chance to chat with someone without any... Restrictions... A blue blush crept across his cheeks, and he tucked some hair behind his ear idly. "Ahh... With someone? Mmm... I do have something casual going on but I wouldn't say..." Razik was practically dating the guy he was seeing, but they hadn't said anything officially. He didn't really want to explain that he was sleeping with someone for the fun of it... And dancing with them... And cuddling with them... Yes it was time to change the topic. "Thank you! I will give you a tour when I have the new building, and... Do you think so, really? It does give me a sort of roguish harm, thank you." If he made the topic less taboo and more light hearted, perhaps he would make Dion feel a bit uncomfortable about asking. It wasn't his fault, after all.

"You wouldn't happen to be able to teach me any of this blood magic, can you?" From the looks of it, Razik enjoyed talking about the topic, and pretty knowledgeable about it, too. The elf on the other hand, hasn't even seen anyone use it before. Nor had he considered to learn, up until this point of course. But wouldn't it drain his energy, to use the very substance in his veins to enhance his magic? That was if it was even successful, of course. "Hm.. How much blood do you actually need for the magic to work?" For one thing, he worried of using too much that he could die from blood loss. Another was that he was confused on how he could get any blood at all. Should he cut his leg as a substitute for his hand? "I... If you'd like me to, I shall. Though I don't know if I can come see you; I'm predicting a lot of injuries on my person, I doubt I could go out of the medical centre if that's the case. Speaking of which, does the academy have any nursing stations or anything?" The closest thing that came to his mind that provided medical attention was his medicine teacher, and students who knew how to heal themselves, him included. Or would professor Helmy be able to make potions strong enough to heal tournament participants before their next match?
"That's very convenient for you, then," he said with a blush at the compliment. "N-no, I'm sure it's as easy for you, sir. After all, I believe you're a more interesting being than I am altogether. Next to being visually appealing, of course. You must have people coming to you often, and a large amount of friends with your attitude so friendly." The next sentence uttered by the other proved his point, and with satisfaction, he leant back on his chair. He still wondered how such an easygoing person could have something unfortunate to plague him for a friendship. How badly could it have ended for someone to wound him so? "Of course I don't. It's also another way to get to know each other, albeit not the best one." The elf laughs, though what came out was obviously a form of uncomfortable chuckling. "Yes, I look forward to talking to you again." Hopefully with a lighter atmosphere than today's, he thought. He giggled at Razik's blush, catching him being shy for the first time. He wondered that if he were to tease the other, would it become awkward or uncomfortable for him? "Oh so you are, then?" He smirked at the other as he took another sip of his tea. "It must be nice to have someone to care for," he said, a sigh escaping his lips as he stared dreamily into his cup. Wouldn't that be pleasant, having someone to cuddle, spend time with, and share everything with. Most of the people he knew had one, and they seemed much happier than those who don't. Of course, they weren't as lonely and company was probably guaranteed. That was what he thought, and observed, at least. But when things go wrong... He stared at Razik's scar. It could've been worse than that, couldn't it? That's alright, I shan't press on further. I hope you're happy with them, then." The boy smiles at the other. In actuality, he was more concerned for his safety. With the scar and whatever else that happened to him, he was worried if his old professor was a masochist of some sort, mingling with people who caused him harm. He disliked people like that, hurting others whether they mean it or not, and wouldn't like anyone he knew associating with them. He sighed, as whatever the case may be, it wasn't his right to interfere with their relationships.

"Take one of my classes if you want to learn, hmm?" Razik was mostly teasing, and he scoot his chair back so that he could open one of the drawers on his desk and ruffle about. He let out a small noise of triumph and sat back upright, holding out a rather plain necklace with a long blue stone on the end of it. "Here, this is a sample protection charm I made for one of my classes, it might help in the tournament. You can pull some of its magic to make a shield?" Perhaps his magical signature would even disorient Eratos enough to give Dion the chance to catch him off guard, that would be nice. "Hmm... But with blood magic normally, it depends on how you do it, what sort of magic you're doing, all sorts of things. I don't use a lot of it offensively, and I don't know how much use only a few days of studying would be to you?" It was very important to learn theory before actually grasping at using blood magic, and he wouldn't send Dion into any fights half-armed with knowledge, only to be defeated with some sort of silly basic mistake. "I would suggest you procure some potions and supplies before the tournament, and get a friend to help you with first aid. The medical department may not be the safest place for you to go." Helmy could be fickle with how generous he was feeling for injured students, especially those outside of his own department, and the kelpie had heard that the infirmary often used defenseless injured students as experimental subjects.
"...Are you flirting with me? Or are you just complimenting me?" There was laughter in Razik's voice as he teased Dion, amused by the young man's pleasant and easy nature. "I am here to help my students, and provide company for my friends. It keeps me busy enough." The kelpie had no intention of telling the elf that no, he didn't really have a particularly large amount of friends, just several friendly acquaintances. He didn't mind, though, as it gave him plenty enough time for his own studies and adventures and thoughts. "Mmm... I'm enjoying getting to know you." His ears flicked back nervously and he let out a sheepish chuckle, still blushing, but not too bothered by Dion's teasing. "I don't think he would look at it that way, but... Yes, it is nice to share his company. Are you seeing anyone? You are certainly kind and beautiful enough to catch the eye of many suitors I would imagine, mm?" From Dion's wistful sigh, he figured thay the boy was single, but he was yound and had much time to mingle and date if he was so inclined. There was no rush for romance, after all. Razik smiled at the other wryly, reaching up to touch his scar gently. He wasn't friends with that particular person, but he had earned his mark of shame, and he really wouldn't complain over it. All actions had consequences, and he would accept that as gracefully as he could, rather than allow himself to agonize over it.

"Oh I will, if it isn't too bothersome for you to teach me again next semester?" The boy raised an eyebrow with a smile on his face as he asked. "I look forward to being in your classes again, professor. Though from what I've heard--" overhearing would be a more suitable choice of words, when he passed Razik's classes as he was teaching, "--it could get... mm.. messy when it comes to blood magic. That, and.. I'm not sure if the sight of blood will be too pleasing for me." Nervous laughter resonated from the boy as he shifts in his seat. His eyes held the hazy gaze it did previously, as a different memory haunted him. The boys' eyes lit up as he saw the stone, at first reaching out to take it, but then thought the better of it. "Ah, no, that's quite alright. I've one of my own," he said as he pointed to the crystal on his own necklace. "It might not have the same magical properties, but this talisman helps me channel more energy for watermancy." It was thoughtful, he admitted, but the elf supposed he could use his necklace for the shield. "Mm yes, I suppose it's too late to start learning." He shrugged, knowing the other had a good point. If he rushed into things, it might be more harmful for him. "Forgive my asking, but... Does Eratos know any of this blood magic, sir?" The boy worried his opponent had this ability; if he did, the elf could be in more danger than he thought. How would he know the extent of how much the other wanted to win? "That's quite a bit ironic, don't you think?" Dion was amused how the medical department won't be the safest place to go to. "I had the same thought, anyway... not to brag, but I believe I'm capable enough to heal myself. As are most other students, no? With their self-healing capabilities... much like yourself, was it?"
"S-sir!" The boy flustered, hiding his face with his teacup. He didn't think he was flirting with the other. He couldn't even differentiate it from being polite or friendly. "Of course I wasn't; that would be inappropriate! With your... er... relationship with whomever. But if that's how you see it, I.. I could reduce... err whatever it is I was doing that made you think so. I wouldn't want trouble with your... girlfriend? Boyfriend?" He fumbled with his teacup, unsure of how to react. "And I, to getting to know you, sir." The boy raised his cup as if to toast, and drank from it. The elf took note of his ear movement and laughs. "How did your ears...?" The elf raised an eyebrow at the remark, and with a questioning and partially disappointed tone, says, "Do you mean to say you don't care for each other?" He blushed again at the question and laughed softly, ending with a sigh. "No, of course not, but that was very flattering for you to think so." He had, once upon a time, met someone he truly came to like, but as the year went away, so did his companion. The elf frowned, recalling that he wasn't even told why he left, nor given an address of the others', leaving them unable to communicate. But alas, he did figure it wasn't his time, with his studies and all. He wondered at how others were even able to maintain relationships at this state, but then again, they probably aren't as busy as he was. "If you don't mind, how is it that you're able to see anyone with all the classes to teach ans whatnot?"

"It's never bothersome for me to teach any student, and especially not one as sweet and good natured as yourself." The kelpie tilted his head and flashed Dion an innocent smile, not allowing any bemusement to come into his expression as he thought on that. Was his blood magic class messy? Not too much so, right...? "Mmm... Well, I can give you some reading material, if you don't want to take the class. Here, I actually have a spare book..." He paused and turned to his bookshelf, shuffling about before handing a copy of Blood Magic: Light, Dark, and 50 Shades of Gray. He took the necklace back with a wry smile, setting is aside and giving a little shrug. "It's never too late to start learning, friend." The kelpie paused and thought on that for a moment, before shaking his head tentatively. "I do not think Eratos knows much blood magic? I cannot be sure, though. Do not underestimate him, he is very powerful when properly motivated." Razik laughed a bit. It was a shame that the medicine department didn't actually heal students, but in a place like this, only the strong would survive... Or those with strong friends, he supposed. "Yes, I do suppose we are lucky in that regard." It's not like many people dared to hurt Razik, anyways. Students were not stupid enough to attack the people that graded their work, after all.
"There's nothing wrong with some friendly flirting!" The grin on the professor's face was downright predatory, even. He laughed loudly, some lingering color still in his cheeks as he explained, "My... Partner and I have an open relationship. He doesn't like the term boyfriends, he says it's childish." Razik was a big fan of all childish and cutesy romantic things, but he knew not everyone was like that, and it was okay. He toasted his tea with Dion's, and at the attention to them, wiggled his ears again in a playful manner. "It's a strange relationship between us that we have, but I do care for him, and him for me. And I am quite surprised you have no romantic entanglements with anyone now but... At least that gives you more time for your studies." At the question, he snorted and gave Dion an amused grin. "There is always enough time for romance... And I do have a lot of free time, despite all of my classes. I am a skilled multitasker."

It looks like Razik is some sort of trendy college kid walking around with his pretty boyfriend

I love it!!! And I am super amused by how much taller Dion is, my poor kelpie has all these super tall students and friends, fufufu. At least they don't tease him for it~

This was a pleasant RP, and I apologize for Razik's loquaciousness--next time I will try to keep him in check for you. ;)
